Step by step, each measured and controlled, each planned, Admiral Belleza walked down the massive corridor.
Each door was exactly the same, just like the people, just like the days. The light was dim here, gloom pervaded only by the thoughts that fluttered through her mind.

They rested in a cave that lurked behind the waterfall, where he laid down and allowed her to treat his wounds, the falls a cool shroud of sound around them.

The leaves felt downy, fragile as moth wings in her clumsy, callus-leathered hands. They dissolved on contact with the heat of his skin. He slept through the process and, emboldened, she let her hands wander along his body, beneath his bronze fur and the velvet barbs of his raven-like feathers. There she found a crude latticework of scar tissue, some smooth to her touch, others deep and ragged, and as she traced them she could imagine them fresh and bloody, the flesh laid open like fresh cuts of beef.

It was truly beyond her how anyone could show such cruelty to something so beautiful.

I have wanted to draw something for this story so badly! It's impossible for me to choose a favourite scene, but this is one of many.
I'd like to do something way more... Well, fitting, later! I need to practice. The Griffin still looks too tiny when I draw him, but I shall endeavor to work on that! Life's a learning experience, after all.

There is a lot that I would like to say about the story, but I would hate to give any spoilers, and I also would like to encourage others to read it for themselves! It's wonderfully written piece and I hope that someday it will be finished so that I can find out how it ends! As it is, it's a worthwhile read and a fantastic companion to the film. ^_^

While this is not my first time drawing Kayley, it's the first time I've drawn her, liked and posted it, so... Maybe again sometime? I do like Kayley a lot. I think that, a few small things aside, she's a really good protagonist for little girls in particular to look up to. So who says a gal can't have unrealistic goals? Better to have those than no goals at all! As Vyse teaches us, "impossible" is just a word.

I feel badly for never having drawn Kayley before.

It has been CRAZY-hot here! We're talking 111-118 recently... There were storms last night, though, so I am hoping they'll have broken the heat a little. Is it super toasty where you are?
I think everyone but the West Coast, stateside, have been roasting their fannies off!

My Oregonian friends are complaining about how rainy and cold it is there, and I just want to climb through my monitor, zoom across the internet, and visit them! Raaaaiiin. We need it!
